A Gift For You...
A man lay on his bed at the end of his life waiting to die.
His dream came to pay his last respects
and bid farewell to the man who had never used it.
As it entered the room the man looked down in shame.
"Why did you not realize me ?" the dream asked.
"Because I was afraid," the man said.

inflation is back, and affecting the world's economic development. Some
countries that appeared to be thriving are coping poorly with inflation while
others are showing a level of monetary maturity worthy of the Fed's 1980s
Chairman Paul Volcker, and far ahead of his successors Alan Greenspan and Ben
Bernanke. The US is in a difficult and worsening position, with low interest
rates and huge amounts of liquidity being poured into the system. The Eurozone
is in much the same state. Even Japan, where deflation has been the order of the
day, is seeing inflation at 2% year-to-date, well above its target rate of 0.5%.
In emerging markets, inflation has generally risen to higher rates, largely
because more of their citizens are poor and spend a high proportion of their
incomes on commodity-related items. As for the BRIC countries, Russia will
likely fall into a combination of high inflation and deep recession once oil
prices stabilize; neither India nor China are tackling inflation effectively;
Brazil is maintaining economic policies that make it a shining example and bode
well for its future. Hutchinson also discusses Vietnam (a wild card) and Dubai,
which he predicts is in for the mother of all real-estate crashes. The overall
outlook, he writes, is bearish. Almost all the world has abandoned proper
anti-inflationary discipline and is destined to suffer a period of high
inflation and recession in the coming years. Some countries, like Dubai, will
become true basket-cases, while others like China and Vietnam may muddle through
fairly satisfactorily. Only a few countries, like Brazil, have taken the
inflationary threat sufficiently seriously and will thus be in a position to
continue expanding even while the rest of the world endures recession.
